so somehow in one of my creature stage games after killing over 200 creatures and making like 25 species go extinct, im still "adaptable", the bar isnt going any lower and theres like no creatures left to kill, how do i end creature stage a predator?
im just a guy that has trouble dealing with random things
The problem might have to do with how the game's trait system works. Of course, it is displayed as a spectrum that goes from the three colored 'cards', from green to blue to red, or in the Civilization Stage's case, blue to green to red. So, if you lean too much into being an Herbivore in the Cell Stage even if you're not in the green(quite literally), it's much harder for you to get into the red in the Creature Stage. Of course, this works the same way in visa versa, though arguably aiming to be a Social Carnivore would be much harder than a Predator Herbivore considering the dieted hunger system, but that's not particularly relevant obviously. Also partially could be that you started the Creature stage befriending enough creatures that the friendly fire basically prevents you from switching sides. Potentially the amount of landmass the planet's terrain has available for nests to spawn in could be taken into account slightly, since water outside of the Cell and Tribal Stages are treated by this game more as obstacles than anything, quite-infamously.
For an arguably-last-resort solution, I'd recommend looking into the game's Ctrl+Alt+C cheat codes. One I particularly use a lot that can fix the issue is "setConsequenceTrait", specifically "setConsequenceTrait creature_aggressive". This cheat allows a manual override on the traits your species has, complete with a change of abilities. It works while the campaign is running, so you can use it to switch what powers or alignments you have mid-game.
You can look up each of the valid strings in the Spore Wiki's article on cheats. If you want to get achievements from the save file and not locked into the Joker Badge punishment, there is a mod this forum hosts that allows you to cheat and still get new achievements regardless.

To finish the creature phase is really difficult but not impossible. You need to upgrade the boss creature to increase its power and destroy the weaker creatures.
