Changing archetype background

I want to make a simple mod that replaces the background of the Knight Archetype with that of the Wanderer. I've tried using the sporemodder and following the guide but I can't for the life of me figure it out. Anyone willing to give some pointers?[/img]

You need to locate the folder on where the backgrounds are found, which is in a folder named "graphics_misc_2~". Now, here's the images you are looking for:

0x85888400 - Shaman

0xC69009CE - Trader

0xBF4A63B8 - Warrior

0xF9852530 - Diplomat

0x29DAB11F - Zealot

0xEA3A7080 - Scientist

0x2845E1FB - Ecologist

0xFD35DE13 - Bard

0x24C6341D and 0xCA3E01B3 - Knight (One might be for Religious Civ)

0x8DB5CD1F - Unknown (Economic Civ backgroud maybe?)

0xB865A25E - Grox

0x3E17E328 and 0x04F2BD27 - Wanderer (One might be for Military Civ)

For what images you want to replace them with, you need to make sure your file name matches the one you want to replace.

I'm still figuring out the ins and outs of sporemodder (actually, this is my first time using it). By file name do you mean the name of the project or the name of the knight archetype?

Those HEX numbers I shared are the names of the image files. If you want to replace any of them, you need to give the image that you want to put in the game with the same file name.

For example, if you want to replace the Bard background, you need to name your file 0xFD35DE13. That's because it's the same file name as the Bard background.

I keep trying to rename the file but it keeps reverting back to the old ID. I tried renaming the current Knight background cuz I thought it was overwriting the new background but it still isn't working

You need to make a separate mod, not use the core package file that Spore runs with.
