Solar Spore 0.5a

Solar Spore v0.5a
  • Nests have been completely removed and creatures now wander around more.
  • The Creature Stage is twice as long.
  • Buildings and vehicles are now more expensive.
  • Extinction requires 15 kills instead of 3-7 kills.
  • Creatures are now in larger packs.
  • Solar systems can now have 3-75 planets.
  • The price of a T3 planet has gone down, but buildings are now a factor too.
  • New tools have been added. (Level 4 (Imperial) versions of various vanilla tools, The planet-buster laser (An infinite-use planet buster which replaces the normal one), Global Earthquake (which is like Gravitation Wave but with ammo), Peace Bomb (a purchasable version of Static Cling which uses ammo) and Homeworld Portal (which is like Return Ticket but with ammo.))
  • Packs of creatures now act more like rouge creatures.
  • The player's nest has been replaced with a plant.
  • The player's species now wanders around more.
  • The galactic camera has been enhanced.

A new mod I'm working on!

Features:
  • Completely removes nests from the Creature Stage
  • Adds several new tools
  • Makes buildings more expensive
  • Makes extinction of a species harder. (15 kills instead of 3-7 kills)
  • And probably much more in the future.

Alpha release coming soon.

I'm trying to make packs of creatures larger because, as Davo himself said...

...which would make creatures more interesting, as they would do more things.
For example, I once had an AI nest spawn next to the ocean when testing this mod. The creatures frequently drank from the water, which is probably part of what Davo mentioned.

I've managed to increase the pack size...

Solar Spore v0.02b is out.
It's just a small bugfix patch which fixes the Homeworld Portal. It uses the same download link as the previous version.

  • Packs of creatures now act more like rouge creatures.
  • Two more tools have been added: The planet-buster laser (An infinite-use planet buster which replaces the planet buster) and Global Earthquake. (GE is like Gravitation Wave but with ammo.)
  • You unlock extra pack members at the same time as in vanilla Spore again. (but the creature stage is still twice as long.)

I think I found a problem with this mod. In the Space Stage, every planet that I go to with the "artifact" signal always turns out to be space pirates.

That's odd. I'll look into it soon, but for now, try removing "!!!ChocIce75_SolarSpore_SolarSystem.package" from your Data folder.

  • The Peace Bomb (a purchasable version of Static Cling which uses ammo) has been added.
  • The player's nest has been replaced with a plant.
  • Creatures in the early Creature Stage now wander around more.

  • There's a new ModAPI-powered installer, so now you don't have to manually remove the components you don't want.

I've been thinking of making a spore mod that takes all the best or most freeing of the mods and smashes them together into one so that many others won't have to search through these forums so hardly, like a Megamod. You got any ideas for a name for this mod? My megamod, i mean.

Ultra Spore? Also, make sure that...
1. The mods are compatable. (If they edit the same files, you'll have to attempt to merge them.)
2. You have permission from the mod authors. (Feel free to use my mods in a modpack, but others may not want their mods in a modpack.)

Depends on which files and why. Sometimes it can be more complicated than that, such as for localized text or embedded package signatures.
