This mod adds a large variety of new creature parts, mostly of prehistoric animals but with a few modern ones squeezed in. Can be installed using Spore Mod API or just by dropping the package file into your Spore GA Data folder. If you're updating from an older version simply remove the older version and replace it with the newer one.

New Heads- not all species listed here have their own head part, many are morphs of other heads:

Known Issues
Most of the older parts introduced in v1.2 don't animate, I have updated a few of them to animate and may update the rest, but no promises on that.

All parts with morphs only animate in the creature editor

Only the downward morph handle on the Utahraptor skull works properly, the other two are just partial duplicates of the downward one (they were meant to alter the skull shape, but I was not able to figure out how to get multiple morphs to work)

For those of you updating from version 1.2 or earlier, you might see the head size of creatures you've made with the 4 old heads that were updated change. Since I was unable to open the original files for these parts I had to remake them and just guess at model scale. I have not checked all models but I have confirmed that the Pteranodon head will grow on old creatures.

Changelog
Spoiler
Version 1.4

So I had planned for this update to be a bit bigger, but real life got in the way and I haven't had time to mod recently. Since what I have made has been just sitting on my computer for the past few months now, I figured I'd just release what I currently have.

New Parts:
Image
Canid Head with the following morphs:
  • Wolf
    Golden Retriever
    German Shephard
    Bear
    Hyaenodon
    Hyena
Canid Paw

Image
Pachyderm Head with the following morphs:
  • African Elephant
    Asian Elephant
    Woolly Mammoth
    Columbian Mammoth
    Mastodon
    Stegodon
All of the above morphs also have submorphs of just the tusks ranging from the big mammoth style tusks like seen above to completely tuskless. Note that not all tusks are available for all species since I was never able to figure out how to get more than one morph handle working properly, I instead tried to keep tusks sized according to each respective species. This head also has trunk animations controlled by the smile frown animation (raised when smiling, curled inward when frowning). The animation can be a bit quick at times but overall is pretty decent.

v1.3
Youtube preview of 1.3 update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_4gX6uFkJA

  • Deinonychus
    Velociraptor
    Austroraptor
    Buitreraptor
    Troodon
    Compsognathus
Pteranodon male
  • Pteranodon female

Version 1.2
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/jmxn3zdcb ... ckage/file

Youtube preview of new parts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5o6pVC ... e=youtu.be
For a preview of the other parts that were already in this mod see version 1.1 below.

v1.2 Features:
4 new heads, all of which animate:
Mosasaurus
Elasmosaurus
Ankylosaurus
Pachycephalosaurus

The Pachycephalosaurus head also includes morphs to turn into 4 other species. Here are the rough values of where you should drag the handle to match the species:
0%- Pachycephalosaurus
25%- Stygimoloch (or young Pachycephalosaurus depending on whether or not you believe it's a juvenille Pachy)
50%- Dracorex (or very young Pachy)
75%- Homalocephale
100%- Prenocephale

Known issues:
The Pachycephalosaurus head only animates in the editor, not sure why since the other 3 heads work just fine outside the editor
For known issues for the older parts see the changelog below.

Also, for those who are wondering, since I figured out how to animate heads now I might go back and animate the other older heads if I can. That's not a promise though, since I am busy with real life and I am unable to open the rw4 files for them (I do have the original model files, but I have no idea how I scaled any of them when I was working with them in Blender). Also since many of the heads were very quick edits of other heads (such as all the raptors), some of them probably have stuff like warped teeth that I didn't bother fixing before since they were hidden from view.

Version 1.1
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/qy3b6z4uq ... .1.package

Youtube preview v1.1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8_OeNR8BOw&t=15s

I was planning on waiting to release v1.1 until I had all the heads I have planned made, but since it'll probably take a few weeks or even months to finish them all at the rate I've been going, I'm releasing a portion of the heads early.

Updated to now have 36 dinosaur heads of the following species:
Acrocanthosaurus
Alamosaurus
Alioramus
Allosaurus
Apatosaurus
Aucasaurus
Baryonyx
Brachiosaurus
Camarasaurus
Camptosaurus
Carcharodontosaurus
Carnotaurus
Ceratosaurus
Compsognathus
Corythosaurus
Deinonychus
Edmontosaurus Male (crested version)
Edmontosaurus Female (non-crested version)
Gallimimus
Giganotosaurus
Gorgosaurus
Hypsilophodon
Iguanodon
Lambeosaurus
Maiasaura
Majungasaurus
Parasaurolophus
Pteranodon
Spinosaurus
Stegosaurus
Suchomimus
Tyrannosaurus
Triceratops
Troodon
Utahraptor
Velociraptor

Known issues:

Only four of the heads animate (T. rex, Spinosaurus, Carnotaurus, and Giganotosaurus). I made these 4 heads over a year ago, so I don't remember exactly how I got animations to work properly on them (I can get the new heads to animate, but I'm also getting a bad bug where the heads spin backwards randomly). Since it's way faster to make new parts without animations anyways, I'm just leaving the rest without animations.

Animations for the 4 heads for the most part work, but sometimes the mouth doesn't close all the way when it should (for example when biting). Doesn't look too bad, and since I can't figure out animations anyways I don't plan on trying to fixing it.

Textures will show up blurry in the creature editor if you have a lot of parts. They show up fine for me in game, although I do have a 4k texture mod.

Though your head parts are fine. To be honest you can still sculpt a better head out of knurldown parts (particularly the recoloring ones), it can give you far more control over how you want the head to look like.

I greatly enjoy this mod! Your heads are quite well sculpted, and much smoother than anything sculpted using knurldowns. They're scientifically accurate, too; a great bonus! :)

Been working on a few more heads, here's a preview of what I have so far:

Velociraptor
Image

Pteranodon
Image

Allosaurus
Image

Ceratosaurus
Image

I could release these now but I want to get at least some herbivores in before releasing v1.1, just haven't gotten around to making them yet since they'd require brand new models, and currently I'm trying to make what I can by editing existing heads since that's a much faster process (for example the Velociraptor is an edited Utahraptor, and the Allo and Cerato are edited from the Giganotosaurus)

Sorry, didn't realize Photobucket no longer lets you post images links to forums. Here's the images, plus a few more heads I've made since last posting:
Allosaurus
Image

Ceratosaurus
Image

Pteranodon
Image

Velociraptor
Image

Acrocanthosaurus
Image

Carcharodontosaurus
Image

Compsognathus
Image

Deinonychus
Image

Gallimimus
Image

Stegosaurus
Image

Troodon
Image

Triceratops
Image

Still don't have an eta for version 1.1, since there's quite a few more I want to add before releasing and many of them will require brand new models. Also I no longer plan on trying to make them animated, since I can't figure out the bugs and it's much easier to edit previous heads into new heads if I don't have to worry about animating.

Yeah, those look great.

Also, even if you aren't animating them now, I'd recommend building the models so that you can later on - you never know what improvements Emd may be able to make in the future...

is there a reason none of the heads are labeled in the parts menu? Because that would make things much better

Could you please make versions of these parts without eyes and protruding teeth? Give your dinosaurs komodo-kissers, because that's how reptile lips work. The foramina (small holes near the teeth) mark the beginning of the lips.

I have to say this but I honestly think for version 1.2, you should at least make more animated heads like update them and such. (Along with adding more heads like Tapejara, Thanos simonattoi, Rugops, Tylosaurus, etc. Even though Tylosaurus isn't a dinosaur but you did include pterosaur heads, right?)

If by that, you mean that you're unable to import the existing rw4 models into Blender using the current iteration of the SporeModder Blender addon, then I would recommend that you file an issue on the GitHub repository for the addon, in the hopes that Emd may be able to improve its import compatibility in the future.
