That's really strange.

If I didn't know better, I'd say evildigit from creepy and cute.

But maybe its an eye? RGB shows that three ends have the detail color, which might wrap around to the front. Then again, I don't know if an eye would actually have a wrapping iris, instead of an eye texture separate from the lid and base, like how it is usually.

Its really hard to figure out, especially since I'm used to identifying/modifying textures from a much smaller source, such as creepy and cute or bot parts or other parts packs.
Spore is creative, even the mods and hacks.
Or, should I say, especially the mods and hacks?

:geek: wow. I guess I was right. :D I thought it had to be either a hand/foot or and eye because of the coloring. I just didn't know DS had C&C textures in it.

Darkspore has all of the core spore and C&C parts in it, which is also a nice little obstacle in this retexturing lol.

I say, You keep the texturing intact for the Core Spore, C&C and Bot Parts and try to figure out the texturing of Darkpsore Parts. You've done a great job so far, Helmo. [thumbs up] I would definitely not be able to do something like that! :D

EDIT: Unrelated. If anyone has found the official Concept Arts of Enemies or Planets, please let me know.I need Planet Arts of Infinity (Cyber Planet), Zelem's Nexus (Quantum Planet) and Nocturna (Necro Planet).

Someone needs to snuff out where Darkspore keeps the textures for the parts. Maxis hid them well, they must be SOMEWHERE.

Added a few more renames to some items (Destructor masks/Goliath Pads) so if interested Davo, let me know.

Mind if I point out something regarding the RDX9 file containing the C&C parts? I know this might be annoying since I brought this up time and time again but it is really bothering me and I think there is a way to get around with this problem.

Remember on how Dark Injection changes the C&C eyes as it removes the pupils? Apparently, the RDX9 file is the one causing it because RDX contains all the Core Spore, C&C and Bot Parts, but only the C&C eyes got edited as the pupils were taken out. Also, the fact that the parts in the RDX file has the same values as the original coding, Now, I was thinking that in the eyes tab in the Spore editor, the values regarding the original Spore code and the RDX code was altered so the mod can have both the original C&C files and the altered ones. Some people might like the altered eyes and would like to use them, but some want the original eyes without constantly uninstalling the mod.

However, if one does not have C&C installed, the mod will not the original eyes whatsoever (for obvious reasons).

For the eyes tab if the change was made, I think it'll go like this:

Core Spore Eyes [Tab 1]

Original C&C Eyes [Tab 2]

Bot Eyes [Tab 3]

RDX9 Eyes [Tab 4]

Also, I edited the icons for the altered RDX eyes (Tab 4). If anyone wants to work out with the idea and all, I'll give you the files for the icons here. This is to anyone who are modders and wanted to improve Dark Injection with this concept. I also apologize for not helping out with this 'cause I'm not a skilled modder at all, I can only beta test for the future version of Dark Injection.

Here's some pics of progress. Two amateur creatures using the fixed parts. Parts are still a bit inaccurate but still, PROGRESS!

Base = Dark Blue
Coat = Bright Sour Blue
Detail = Hot Pink

Wooden limbs/hand/feet are now correctly mapped. Bark is colored based on the COAT layer.

Skeletal limbs still a WIP (need the texture that stops purple from going through). Blasters are Sage's Regenerating Blasters (WIP). Head WIP as well for the same reason as bone limbs. Armor is the Modulating class (Tan/orange) correctly colored, I made sure and checked on my Darkspore Heroes in DS.

Eyes in both images are colored correctly.

In regards to the pages thing, I have no experience with setting up pages, but thought this was a good idea once before when I heard of this mod. I'm not sure if it's possible but you'd have to ask Davo about it. Sorry mate.

NOTE: Part colors match with the body layers. If the base layer is a shiny or dull paint style, the section of the part sharing the Base colors will also be shiny or dull respectively. Same with the Coat ad Detail layers.

Paint mapping is very detailed and due to Spore's limited resolution the paint and detail on parts will be blurred. If anyone knows of a mod that enables high quality textures, let us know. thanks.
