The package permissions have to be changed from readable to executable. That means that you have to tell the computer to change the file from a document page you can read to a program you can run in-game. Here's how you do it:

-Open the application Terminal. This lets you access the Mac OS.
-Find the location of your package using the Terminal program. If you type 'ls' at the command line, Terminal will show you the files in the directory you are in. If you just launched Terminal, you'll be in your home directory.
-At the prompt, type:
cd Downloads/
You will have changed to the Downloads folder.
-At the prompt, type:
ls
and you'll see a list of all the files in our Downloads folder. Make sure the file 2011_DarkInjection_v.6.0.0.package is listed there.
-Now, you can change the permission on the file by typing
chmod ugo+x 2011_DarkInjection_v.6.0.0.package
This will make the file executable, which Spore seems to need.
-Put the file in the SPORE_EP1/Data folder, and you're good to go!

Please make sure you have installed and updated SPORE and SPORE: Galactic Adventures in the proper install order.
The Cute and Creepy expansion is not required but recommended to use this mod.
-If not(??)
-.C&C Skin paints will not be avalaible.

-.C&C Parts textures becomes DarkSpore textures.
The Dr. Pepper Bot Parts Pack are not required to use this mod.
I do not understand. After installing the DI will not be painted with C & C?

Do you have the correct texture horns?

As I have the DI does not need another mod that adds grox parts and cell parts for the Creatures Editor? Do these creatures parts, you can modify and use in the game?

If you don't have the C&C Pack you can't use those skins paints.

Read again the opening post.
The trick is to rename the arenas packages and place them into the SPOREData folder.

If you have the DarkInjection you don't need any other mod to have those parts (Grox & Cell Xtended).
Of course, you can modify them and use in game.

And I am back!
I installed DI properly, with all the things done rightly and ya know what? THIS THING REALLY WORKS!!!! :D W00T!!!

P.S. Looking forward, when that Necrowing and Biotic Foot get finally fixed.
You don't know what's to come, do ya? >:)

Darkspore update is NOT needed. Well, not for parts, anyways. But, ar the part names supposed to be stuff like "Wepon_MissileTempest_03"? cuz 95% are on my game. aAlso, I laughed my head off when I saw "X Quit Dark Injection" and "Click a star to start playing Dark Injection". Ha ha ha!

It WORKS. You are doing something wrong.
You just have to rename the arenas packages and put them in the SPOREData folder.
Just in SPOREData, not in SPORE_EP1Data nor both at the same time.
Take a look again at opening post and other previous messages.

Look this
Textures in Editor mode. Click on the image to see a larger one.

The Core Spore parts & C&C parts have their original textures. In both modes.

The 5.3 patch for Darkspore adds new parts, included in this version of DarkInjection.
If you don´t update you can´t have those new parts.
The latest patched packages ARE NEEDED.

We are working on create real names for Darkspore parts. In the meanwhile you have them named with their original code names. (i.e. weapon_fireravager_04)

For me it does not want to work ... I have other paths.
I do not have SPORE_EP1, I have SPORE_BP1
Files DI throw in 3 places:
Electronic Arts/SPORE_BP1
Spore / Data (with "Z")
GA / Date

EDIT: Ok, It work

I had to delete the files DI with GA/Date
The rest were of the SPORE/Data with "Z"

Do you mean the one I selected in this image?
This one was reported as causing a game crash. I fixed it and now it's possible (for me) to use it. And , of course, it's going to be on version/update 6.0.1 (Yes, I'm already testing 6.0.1)

What do you mean with "VISIBLE" ? Can't you see or handle the rest of the apoc weapons?
Are you using updated arenas packages??

The "visible" term is because I'm not getting any of the Apoc Weaps correctly displayed. All "standard" Apoc Weaps are displayed as swords, while Apoc' Cashout Weaps are glitched and are not visible at all. And yes, the Cross Cannons are on the image. It's those weaps on the forearms.
