Sigur Writes Poetry

Unread post #1 by Sigur » Wed Jan 25, 2017 4:59 pm

"These quiet pulls, not a skip, not a halt
An extra beat where before silence danced
In the mind, stopped, floated, then wafted to
Forgotten plains of an absent mindset
Silent urges, calling out in the night,
Nothing but our seething subconsciouses
Begging, screaming “not one more day of this
Lightless nothing!” Where cold could be place warmth,
Where before were demons let symphonies
Be played, operas be sung, tunes of long-
Forgotten empires fill the starlit sky"

Ten syllables a line. Don't know where the idea came from, but damn, it was a good idea.

I used to make dragons, but now I make just about everything. Huge thanks to rod55rob and CamBen for their hard work on their part mods, which make my pastime a lot more interesting.

Haikus are easy.
Anyone can write a phrase
With set syllables.

Or, if you wanted something fancier,

Ribbons of moonlight
Green and gold and silver beams
Dance across the snow.

*takes a bow*

Into memes?

In a green skinsuit
I jump from a counter top
And proclaim "I'm amazing"

In other news I have just learned that the word "g a y" automatically turns itself into "amazing"

Drink deep of life, and of the stream
Where angels cast their feathers.
Your heart is a fire inside of a stone
And I pray it never weathers.

Alright, even I thought this one was kinda lame. I coulda did better on this one--
I used to make dragons, but now I make just about everything. Huge thanks to rod55rob and CamBen for their hard work on their part mods, which make my pastime a lot more interesting.

"A serenade, the primal voices ring
From canopy to underbrush it howls
The tiger and the ocelot, they sing
The jaguar and the leopard trading growls.
A million winged voices shrilling screams
A trillion insects more perform a dance
The poetry of frogs reciting dreams
The lemurs watch the marching of the ants
The caiman and the anaconda duel
The boa and the harpy eagle fight
The aye-aye and the sloth believe it cruel
And laze together morning, noon, and night
Forevermore, the rainforest, it hums
Producing never twice the same rhythms"

This time I wrote a sonnet. A Shakesperean sonnet. I feel so proud of myself.
I used to make dragons, but now I make just about everything. Huge thanks to rod55rob and CamBen for their hard work on their part mods, which make my pastime a lot more interesting.
