A problem with... ugh.

You can find everything you need from tutorials to mods for Spore and Galactic Adventures. Hundreds of mods are stored here from the downfall of Sporedum.net, including a variety of mods that I have created. Also, you can discover ways to create creatures you thought were impossible using tutorials from DarkEdgeTV. If you need a place to store your mods, you've come to the right place!

A problem with... ugh.

Unread post #1 by Poof » Sat Jan 10, 2015 4:11 pm

Hi everyone. I'm new to this commuinty, and recently, I noticed a strange bug, and I;ve found no information about it.

The problem is, that I can't drag some captain parts from library to the captain's model.
And I don't know what to do with it.

I've already reinstalled the game, so it's nearly impossible that doing it for sec time will work.

I have following mods:
Dark Injection
Platinum Spore (moving it from sporebin didn't work)
Forcesave
CamBen's Color pack.

There was no info about this glitch a n y w h e r e in the net. And it incredibely annoys me.
Recently, I had to reinstall the game 2 times because of a thing I don't really remember... poof.
That's all, if you know how to solve this problem or if you have any idea of solving it, please write it down.

Do you have Galactic Adventures? Are you running the game from a Disk, through Origin, or through Steam? What version of Dark Injection are you running? Is your game patched to the latest version (Bot Parts doesn't count)?

1. Yes, I have GA;
2. Through disk;
3. 2013_DJ (DI_NC caused camera in creature editor glitch);
4. I wasn't installing v5 or v6 patch, because v5 caused not-moving-at-all glitch, and I didn't watn to risk with v6.

And also, I hadn't this problem before the first reinstall.

Install the patch. That is probably your problem. If you get the statues bug, I know how to fix it without removing the patch. That will most likely fix the problem, as a lot of stuff has changed with the advent of various patches. Patch 6 is...basically Bot Parts. Contrary to popular belief, it does not include any previous patches.

Okay, I've just found a reason of this problem. MOD ITSELF. Both 2013_DI and 2013_DI_NC causes this bug for me.

Uh...Dark Injection doesn't even modify those, so...I have no idea what's going on. I remember having that problem when I used Dark injection with Core Spore (I thought my GA was broken), as...well...Captain Parts in Core Spore aren't supposed to be a thing, so yeah. Try putting all the files in /SPORE/Data instead of /SPORE_EP1/Data , and add a z to the beginning of their names.

Okay, I'll try it. Does i have to change name for every single file or just for some of them?

And... another problem. When I launch the patch 6 setup, it says I must uninstall spore... before uninstalling the patch. But there is NO such a thing inside my files. And I've never installed this before.

Odd. Screw Patch 6, just get patch 5, then I'll send you my Patch 5-compliant Bot Parts thingy. The files that need to be renamed with a z are:
2013_DI (or 2013_DI_NC)
Arenas_RDX9
Arenas_Textures

Does that clear stuff up for you?

Yes, it does. I wait for the link. Maybe it won't cause the bug.

Forget about the bug, I know how to fix it if it does happen.

YEEEES! just adding 'Z' fixed the ENTIRE problem. Although, I'd still like to be able to use robo-parts and asymetry. So one thing is done.

Patch 5 covers asymmetry, and my Patch 5 Bot Parts thingy covers the...well...Bot Parts. Install Patch 5. If you get the animation bug, I know how to fix it.

The Animation Problem?

1. Go to SPORE/Data
2. Copy these files:
a)PatchData.package
b)Spore_Audio1.package
c)Spore_Audio2.package
d)Spore_Content.package
e)Spore_Game.package
f)Spore_Graphics.package
g)Spore_Pack_03.package
3. Paste the files into SPORE_EP1/Data
4. [OPTIONAL, TO PREVENT ANY RESULTING BUGS] rename each of those files in SPORE_EP1/Data to add "u_" to the beginning of their names.
5. ???
6. Profit!

Let me know if anything goes wrong.

I'll do so. But I'm afraid you'll have to wait a week for the result. Winter break.
