Need help adding new spice

BEFORE YOU POST...

Remember that all mods available here REQUIRE Spore: Galactic Adventures AND patch 5.1. Patch 6\Bot Parts does NOT include Patch 5.1! (Some may work on other setups, but this is recommended)

Can't get a mod to work? Feel free to ask for help, there's always someone around to help out. Just make sure to include the following information:
a) Did you install Spore from Steam, Origin, or a Disk?
b) Is your game patched to the latest version?
c) Do you have Galactic Adventures?
d) If so, is it also patched to the latest version?
e) Where did you install the mod to?
f) What is the file's current name in the folder you installed it to?
This information is needed for us to help you!

Need help adding new spice

Hello,
I'm new to Spore modding and I wanted to make test mod that adds new spice. I've downloaded "2013DavoSimplySpice.package" for reference on how to add new spices. But when I made mine, SporeMaster throws errors at me.. Can someone explain what I've done wrong?

Alright, so what I think you need is a mod API for Spore. What this does is it is a mod installer and it compiles mods into the actual game itself. There are several different places you can find it. This is a trusted source

You don't need the ModAPI development kit to make mods like this. In fact, this thread was made before both the ModAPI and SporeModder.
The ModAPI easy installer doesn't "compile mods into Spore", it simply moves package files into GA's data folder while also moving DLL files into the ModAPI Launcher's root folder. The ModAPI launcher itself is just a modloader. All it does it inject code from DLL files into game.
Hello there! I'm a random guy who sometimes does *slightly* smart stuff. I do a lot of random Spore shenanigans, too.

Feel free to build off my open-source mods, but please don't add them to modpacks; it could cause compatability issues.
