The Ultimate Data Folder guide.

BEFORE YOU POST...

Remember that all mods available here REQUIRE Spore: Galactic Adventures AND patch 5.1. Patch 6\Bot Parts does NOT include Patch 5.1! (Some may work on other setups, but this is recommended)

Can't get a mod to work? Feel free to ask for help, there's always someone around to help out. Just make sure to include the following information:
a) Did you install Spore from Steam, Origin, or a Disk?
b) Is your game patched to the latest version?
c) Do you have Galactic Adventures?
d) If so, is it also patched to the latest version?
e) Where did you install the mod to?
f) What is the file's current name in the folder you installed it to?
This information is needed for us to help you!

The Ultimate Data Folder guide.

Ever had a hard time finding one of your Data folders? Well look no further! Just add up these three sections of the folder and you'll have a complete path!

CPU TYPE:
32-bit:

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files

64-bit:

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files (x86)

INSTALL SOURCE:
Disk:

Code: Select all

\Electronic Arts

Origin:

Code: Select all

\Origin Games

Steam:

Code: Select all

\Steam\SteamApps\Common

DLC LEVEL:
Core Spore:

Code: Select all

\SPORE\Data

Creepy and Cute (Disk)

Code: Select all

\SPORE_BP1

Creepy and Cute (Origin):

Code: Select all

\SPORE Creepy Cute Parts Pack

Creepy and Cute (Steam):

Code: Select all

UNKNOWN (If you know, tell me!)

Galactic Adventures (Disk):

Code: Select all

\SPORE_EP1\Data

Galactic Adventures (Origin):

Code: Select all

\SPORE Galactic Adventures\Data

Galactic Adventures (Steam):

Code: Select all

\SPORE\DataEP1

So for example, let's say I want my Galactic Adventures Data folder, I'm on my 64-bit computer (highly probable for post-Vista machines), and I've installed through Origin. I'd copy "C:\Program Files (x86)", "\Origin Games". and "\SPORE Galactic Adventures\Data" and get "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SPORE Galactic Adventures\Data". I can now copypaste that path straight into the address bar of a File Explorer Window and it will take me straight to my Galactic Adventures Data folder. Let me know if you need any help using this chart, if you find any mistakes in it, or if you have any suggestions for how to make it easier to read! ^-^

As of today the Spore: Creepy and cute no longer appears in my origin, but it installs along with the regular game on a reinstall. the new Data folder for Spore C&C for me is:

\Spore\BP1Data

I imagine others with the origin install can confirm this change.

I have the GOG version, which includes the 2 expansions. Here's my folder hierarchy.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more info.
