Making building part mods?

BEFORE YOU POST...

Remember that all mods available here REQUIRE Spore: Galactic Adventures AND patch 5.1. Patch 6\Bot Parts does NOT include Patch 5.1! (Some may work on other setups, but this is recommended)

Can't get a mod to work? Feel free to ask for help, there's always someone around to help out. Just make sure to include the following information:
a) Did you install Spore from Steam, Origin, or a Disk?
b) Is your game patched to the latest version?
c) Do you have Galactic Adventures?
d) If so, is it also patched to the latest version?
e) Where did you install the mod to?
f) What is the file's current name in the folder you installed it to?
This information is needed for us to help you!

Making building part mods?

Hello! I am currently working on a mod called Sporefield! It edits creature abilities on some mouths and feet.
But I want to add building parts, that is, creature parts in the building editor! like creature heads mounted on the front door kind of thing.

although I don't know where to start, I know I need to copy a part and change the model and texture, but I'm not sure on how to make a parts page, or add the part to the details page, or even if the part will be animated (hopefully not).


so I already have the creature part modifications working, so now I need to add building stuff.

Hopefully someone knows how to do this!

I'm sorry, but creature parts are differents to building parts and they cannot work in the building/vehicle editor. Why?
Because creature parts use skinpaints (the skinpaintDiffuseTexture, etc properties) . But the building parts (and the building editor itself) use material colors for each face and then they apply the texture of the paint. I never tried to put creature parts in building editor, but they can't work. Or at least, they can't be painted.

Ok then, I will just model building parts that LOOK like creature parts!

It's impossible too xD
Custom parts can't be painted and they look invisible in the editor.

That doesn't work either
Spore is creative, even the mods and hacks.
Or, should I say, especially the mods and hacks?

I thought the Davo Mega Massive Laser was your first mod. But still, it's a real shame that it doesn't work that way. WAIT...When Vexx32 on spreads contacted Heinermann, Heinermann said he erased all traces of SPORE from his computer. He never said anything about his modified SporeMaster...perhaps he still has it? If so, he didn't technically lie. Anyone think this is a good Idea?

the laser was my first, indeed, i did say it was one of my first tho... an experiment, since no link is available...

I don't believe the Heinermann story. He makes a new Sporemaster but he never releases or uses it.
I contacted Void a few weeks ago and he said he doesn't have enough time to develop a new Sporemaster.
You'll have to live with it.

He did release it. Few people heard about it, and thus few copies were ever downloaded, all of which were later lost to time, Imagees, "computer cancer", and, in the case of Heinermann's own copy of it, simply quitting the game altogether. Real shame, though. Ever heard of the book 'Think and Grow Rich'? This would be a good time for 'think and Grow SporeMaster'.

Been working on something like that actually.

They work well together. When you put legs down the Creature Building Animates (Bounces around, jumps, they even Speak lol works in the adventures and the stages
