Mod that makes creatures not go extinct as easily

NOTE: While the Spore ModAPI has empowered mod developers like never before, our ability to add "new" functionality still has its limits, so if there's nothing in Spore that can already do it, we may not be able to either. Nothing is lost in asking, but don't get your hopes up, especially not for anything really big.

Could a mod be made that increases the number of a species that must be eliminated to exterminate to like 50? Or possibly infinite?

Hmm... if you made a creature population infinite then you cant defeat the species, making the game unwinable, if thats a word.

You can win at Spore?

I mean, it's impossible to LOSE at Spore, but I wasn't aware that it was possible to WIN.

Yes I mean, spore, to complete it is to win it.
But if you couldnt win then it wouldnt be a good game, like Metroid 2, you dont have any ammo for the missiles to kill ridley.

you can never complete spore. even if you colonized every planet. you couldnt take over the game saved planets. even modded, new ones would appear. which has me wondering what the reserve limit is. if any.

Exactly. Didn't we once calculated that you'd have to play every day, 8 hours a day, for 2-3 years in order to colonize all the planets? And that's not counting time to restock on colony kits. That certainly sounds like a no-win situation to me.

Also, every stage in Spore is no-fail. There's no penalty for messing up other than having to restart at your nest/home world or having to begin the level again. The player's creatures can never go extinct. Spore is no-win/no-fail.

And I maintain that "losing" is the wrong word. "Inconveniencing" is more appropriate.

If your creature dies, you start over at your nest.

If you lose your tribe or every city, you start the level over again.

There is no "game over" in Spore. Without a "game over" condition, it is impossible to lose.

I agree. Killing a handful of creatures should not lead to a complete and immediate extinction of the species.

I used to play Civ IV with the "require complete kills" option selected. Just because I took a civilization's last city doesn't mean they can't still be a pain in the sassafrass.

in one of my past mods where i modded creatures and extiction, i had the radius from the center of the nest that creatures could stray from probably so large it may have looped the planet a few times. while this was possible, i added the amount of creatures per nest to 100. those guys would break into smaller groups(packs) and fly around the world. Would it be interesting if you had to kill all 100 creatures from around the world, simulating a more realistic feel?
