Water stage

Post your mod requests/ideas here, not in with the actual mods.
NOTE: We can't add "new" functionality, so if there's nothing in Spore that can already do it, we probably can't do it either. That's a bit of an overgeneralization, but still a valid rule of thumb...

Hey Davo! I've got an idea about mode in spore .I think about water stage in game. The parts cane take from cell and monsters. Whot you think?

creating stages isnt easy, or most likely possible at all. we do not have the tools.

you can do it but you cant use to much new code or the game crashes(and its prety much a ripoff of cell i cant do space, tribe, or space

We are close to being able to do it. If you start by making a copy of creature stage and changing the sky to a watery look. Many of the effects can be copied from Adventure editor(like sunrays i think). Plants can be made in Davo's flora editor. Then creating new parts is optional but ideal. You could start with just the cell parts and a select group of other parts and create new ones later. The editor can be copied from creature with a new background. The hardest part would be the animations and creating a filter in the sporepedia so it doesn't spawn normal creatures. Iv'e started but winmerge is missing a dll that i have to troubleshoot but i working on it slowly. I don't know how to create new parts though. :| ill post it if i finish

edit: here is all my brainstorming as of now.
Aquatic Stage
-Nest is retextured to a coral reef
-eggs are retextured to translucent like fish eggs
-no spice geyesers
-map is bounded by "shore" which is actually mountains in a circle
-Plants are seaweeds, corals, etc.
---In davo floraeditor
-Parts are still bones and alphas
---Parts
-----Fish-like mouths
-----Fins
-----Limbs but no feet/graspers (tentacles)
-----only level 1-3 weapons
-----editor is copied from creature editor
-Everything is fishy
---all animals are fish
---epics are big fish
-animations are swimming based on fin placement
---side to side if there is a top/bottom fin
---up and down if there are side fins
---if fins on both top/bottom and sides animation is up and down
---sprint is faster swimming
---jump is not available
-Food is fruit/animals
---fruit still on plants
---animals are animals
-everything else similair to creature
---social/agressive interactions
---creature functionality
---health/hunger
---abilities
-Pack is called school
-final acheivment is feet/graspers

I can make parts to some extent. I just don't know how to make them visible with a texture.

You need to give creatures jump and glide, to represent height change. The early creature editor would be nice, and some sea creatures DO have graspers and feet. The spice geysers can be there, just have them be super tall so the look like they're leaving the ocean. There should be another mod I think, that can be a replacement where you replace the regular one, and tribes and cities stay underwater. In the space stage though, sooming out from the planet would make it apear to have water covering the cities and have a few islands, but I'm pretty sure that the planet's look from a solar view can't change so it's not possible. :arrow: _ :arrow:

Spore is creative, even the mods and hacks.

If you want to have an aquatic stage with not just cell parts, then you'll have to change the starting parts when going to land. Or, you can have different creature starting parts, it's like a creature stage revamp. I don't think you'll be able to make an aquatic stage if you don't have cell parts only.
