[RELEASED] NPC Cell Replacer

Hello everybody. I'm a long time viewer, first time poster.

Deconstruction of Davo's Creature Cells mod and random guess'n'check led to this.

This mod replaces the Maxis Cells with user made cells. Currently in development and expecting a release within a week(assuming I don't get distracted by something shiny).

I don't think anyone has done this yet since I've read lots of posts saying that replace a cell with a non-maxis creation is impossible. If someone has done it, feel to post a link.

That's great! New tutorials are always good. How's the mod itself going? Does the mod automagically pollinate the Cell Stage from the Sporepedia, or are you just overwriting existing Cells via...well, modding?

It's a manual overwrite. The game thinks it's loading the stock maxis cell. I doubt there is any code that could pollinate cells in a similar way to creature stage. The isn't any ranking system in cell stage so you would likely see highly evolved cells (like you see towards the end of the stage) swimming next to less evolved cells (like you see at the start of the stage). Each cell is considered equal and appears at a fixed time in the stage.
