Dinosaur Parts Mod v1.1
Dinosaur Parts Mod v1.1
Version 1.1 released!
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/qy3b6z4uq ... .1.package
Youtube preview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8_OeNR8BOw&t=15s
I was planning on waiting to release v1.1 until I had all the heads I have planned made, but since it'll probably take a few weeks or even months to finish them all at the rate I've been going, I'm releasing a portion of the heads early.
Updated to now have 36 dinosaur heads of the following species:
Acrocanthosaurus
Alamosaurus
Alioramus
Allosaurus
Apatosaurus
Aucasaurus
Baryonyx
Brachiosaurus
Camarasaurus
Camptosaurus
Carcharodontosaurus
Carnotaurus
Ceratosaurus
Compsognathus
Corythosaurus
Deinonychus
Edmontosaurus Male (crested version)
Edmontosaurus Female (non-crested version)
Gallimimus
Giganotosaurus
Gorgosaurus
Hypsilophodon
Iguanodon
Lambeosaurus
Maiasaura
Majungasaurus
Parasaurolophus
Pteranodon
Spinosaurus
Stegosaurus
Suchomimus
Tyrannosaurus
Triceratops
Troodon
Utahraptor
Velociraptor
Known issues:
Only four of the heads animate (T. rex, Spinosaurus, Carnotaurus, and Giganotosaurus). I made these 4 heads over a year ago, so I don't remember exactly how I got animations to work properly on them (I can get the new heads to animate, but I'm also getting a bad bug where the heads spin backwards randomly). Since it's way faster to make new parts without animations anyways, I'm just leaving the rest without animations.
Animations for the 4 heads for the most part work, but sometimes the mouth doesn't close all the way when it should (for example when biting). Doesn't look too bad, and since I can't figure out animations anyways I don't plan on trying to fixing it.
Textures will show up blurry in the creature editor if you have a lot of parts. They show up fine for me in game, although I do have a 4k texture mod.

Re: Dinosaur Parts Mod
Though your head parts are fine. To be honest you can still sculpt a better head out of knurldown parts (particularly the recoloring ones), it can give you far more control over how you want the head to look like.

Re: Dinosaur Parts Mod
I greatly enjoy this mod! Your heads are quite well sculpted, and much smoother than anything sculpted using knurldowns. They're scientifically accurate, too; a great bonus!

Re: Dinosaur Parts Mod
Been working on a few more heads, here's a preview of what I have so far:
Velociraptor

Pteranodon

Allosaurus

Ceratosaurus

I could release these now but I want to get at least some herbivores in before releasing v1.1, just haven't gotten around to making them yet since they'd require brand new models, and currently I'm trying to make what I can by editing existing heads since that's a much faster process (for example the Velociraptor is an edited Utahraptor, and the Allo and Cerato are edited from the Giganotosaurus)

Re: Dinosaur Parts Mod
Sorry, didn't realize Photobucket no longer lets you post images links to forums. Here's the images, plus a few more heads I've made since last posting:
Allosaurus

Ceratosaurus

Pteranodon

Velociraptor

Acrocanthosaurus

Carcharodontosaurus

Compsognathus

Deinonychus

Gallimimus

Stegosaurus

Troodon

Triceratops

Still don't have an eta for version 1.1, since there's quite a few more I want to add before releasing and many of them will require brand new models. Also I no longer plan on trying to make them animated, since I can't figure out the bugs and it's much easier to edit previous heads into new heads if I don't have to worry about animating.

Yeah, those look great.
Also, even if you aren't animating them now, I'd recommend building the models so that you can later on - you never know what improvements Emd may be able to make in the future...

Re: Dinosaur Parts Mod v1.1
is there a reason none of the heads are labeled in the parts menu? Because that would make things much better

Re: Dinosaur Parts Mod v1.1
Could you please make versions of these parts without eyes and protruding teeth? Give your dinosaurs komodo-kissers, because that's how reptile lips work. The foramina (small holes near the teeth) mark the beginning of the lips.

I have to say this but I honestly think for version 1.2, you should at least make more animated heads like update them and such. (Along with adding more heads like Tapejara, Thanos simonattoi, Rugops, Tylosaurus, etc. Even though Tylosaurus isn't a dinosaur but you did include pterosaur heads, right?)

Re: Dinosaur Parts Mod v1.1
awesome, now I'll wait until the mod has animated heads that work correctly! Yay?
