To change the model scale, you have to modify the modelScale, modelMinScale and modelMaxScale.

For model scale reference, you can compare it to one of the working core spore part models, scale it down and re convert it, then once it's the right size you can use it for future reference.
Spore is creative, even the mods and hacks.
Or, should I say, especially the mods and hacks?

I can pack rw4s I just can't for the life of me get tangents to work :? So I can get them to work in spore.... Cause. Can make animated models for portal 2 and it isn't hard, but spore's system is much more complicated.

On that note, I wonder if I could import spore creatures into portal 2. Probably. I might try :P

1. Turn on tangents in blender, export, make sure you have OGRE command line tools in the root of your hard drive (C:/OgreCommandLineTools or whatever)
2. go to where you exported the .mesh and .mesh.xml
3. drag the .mesh onto the OgreXMLconverter tool in the OgreCommandLineTools. you should see a console appear briefly. leave it be
4. once it closes, open up the mesh.xml in WordPad or Notepad, and ctrl+f for "tangent" (without quotes). It should find something
5. If so, add .mesh.xml to [your_parts_package_name].package.unpacked/part_models~/[your_part_model_name].rw4
6. ?????
7. Profit!!!

i find making parts is pointless for spore.
you pack them and the look really bad in an adventure or stage.

there is only one person(EMD) who knows how to fix it and i doubt a tutorial is coming anytime soon.
i have begged but no luck.


as it may be known, i am soon to have a new child by feb 10th so ill be less and less here for a while...

Sure! Just post a drawing or other image (modelling the part is spore itself as a creature is a great way to do it). Doesn't have to be exact, nor must it be a good drawing, as long as it gets your point across and I can understand the artwork.

SporeMaster doesn't accept animated parts. It erases the Blender-from animations.

I guess the animations count as game code, and you can't mess around with that.

Hey Rob, you know how Camben made all those different coloured knurlies?
Could you do that with eyes or other details?
No new models, just a colour pack.
Like in DI the core parts got re-textured. I use the core textures because it messes some stuff up.
But i do like all those cool eyes.

I don't know if you are still doing this or not or if you are taking anymore requests, but I got some ideas, albiet very simple ones.

1. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =215058861 this is a concept arm named "Pincer"
2. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =215058896 this is a concept mouth, just using the spit part model, i call it "Tri-Jaws" , but you can probably come up with a better name.

By the way, I liked your current pack very much, except I think you can better organize it by adding a page in your custom parts tab for each category of parts, e.g. under Rob55rod's Custom Parts, there is Page 1, which is mouths, and PAge 2, which is eyes. Just a suggestion. Also, when I have your mod installed, I get two pages of the core spore parts for some reason. Even so, I found this mod very cool and made quite a few creatures with it! :)
