Yes, that's a known bug whose cause is unknown. It seems Spore still keeps some kind of internal complexity limit. But even if the complexity rises, it should take a lot more to get to the limit.

Also, just to be sure, do you have Steam Spore?

By that time, Mx3 hadn't discovered how to fully unpack Spore_EP1_Data, so I didn't have access to all files. This thread is really old, though. I haven't worked on the mod in forever, and doubt I'll do so again.

SporeMaster does have a bug with string16s properties, but that's not the cause of your problem. The cause of the second problem is that you're missing the <properties> tag at the beginning of the file.

Mind you, since the exporter directly exports to .rw4, there's no need to put the file inside a folder named "whatever.rw4". Just put the .rw4 file directly in the editor_models~ folder.
